The Story

Discover the essence of Central Vietnamese cuisine with Bang Bang Onion, also known as củ nén / hành tăm in Vietnamese. Sourced from Quảng Ngãi, a province located in Central Vietnam, this cherished herb has been a cornerstone of Vietnamese cooking for generations.

With its sweet aroma and a flavor reminiscent of a medley of chives, shallots, and garlic, Bang Bang Onion adds a unique touch to any dish. Its buttery, nutty, and subtly spicy notes not only pair well with seafood but also lend depth into various recipes.

How to use

    • A great substitute for garlic or shallot! Rehydrate the herbs by letting them bloom in water for 1-2 minutes then drain excess water.
    • If skipping rehydration, begin cooking with low heat to prevent burning.
    • Use to marinate any seafood dishes as the herbs help remove the fishy taste.
    • Please note this product cooks quickly with the heat on. If using multiple herbs, prepare them separately as they have different cooking times.
    • Net weight: 1.76 ounces

Tasting notes: Brown butter - Chives - Pine nuts

    Resealable bag
